New fuel source??

With everyone claiming to have discovered the new fuel source that will replace oil, ive been trying to sort through the major contenders and radical claims. I stumbled across this one that interested me here is a link to it, below. The hydrino...

The claims arent all that ridiculous, it comes down to this source of energy would cost around 1.2 cents per kilowatt hour. This compares to an average of 5 cents per kWh for coal and 6 cents for nuclear energy. But really you must take all this information with a grain of salt, everyone skews results in order to be the one/company who validates the next gen fuel source, a lot of money is being thrown around as well.

Other contenders in the fuel source;
-hybrid engines, mainly diesel, will probably help us transition from oil to the next generation of fuel
-many different kinds of fuel cells,DMFC and SOFC, keep getting better and smaller, i read the main problem with the higher output ones is they take time to heatup and cant be used immediately(i read that awhile ago though)
-liquid hydrogen/hydrogen, works sort of like a fuel cell, combines with 02 to make water, environmentally sound, with the development of carbon nanotubes it can be stored much safer and not at freezing temperatures as a liquid, cool article here http://www.physorg.com/news7499.html, about a car that uses a different technique
-Ocean wave generators, shore ones that use the tides and ones that are composed of large weights placed in deep ocean and oscillate up and down
-smaller vertical wind turbines, more enivronmentally sound(birds keep dying), also can be placed in urban locales i.e. on top of buildings(i thought these kind need a startup rotation speed to get going, not sure though), ive also seen turbines built into large skyscrapers but i dont see that happening
-methane hydrates, fossil fuel buried within the ice in the arctics could be larger than oil, coal, gas deposits combined
-ethanol based fuels, the guy who has the vegetable oil powered car, farmers are pushing this one
-solar chimneys, gotta love da vinci, basically a large vertical chimney sun heats up the air at the bottom it rises and powers a turbine
-nuclear fusion, pretty much a nuclear reactor that combines two atoms rather than splits them like a traditional nuclear reactor
-bio-factories, bio-engineered organisms, a bunch of research at various universities that use micro organisms to produce heat, eat garbage and such
-bio-gas, extracts the methane from cow's poo(wouldnt want that job)
-many different industrial companies are producing energy to help reduce their power consumption budget by recycling their waste, most notably Coors is starting to extract ethanol from the beer wasted in the bottling process
-solar power, may start placing on the facades of buildings
-powdered metal, supposedly nanometer thick metal chunks are highly reactive and when combusted could be more efficient than cars(a load of crap to me)
-thermal depolymerization, takes dead stuff and creates crude oil, kinda like how oil is produced geologically
-and oh yes they are still researching cold fusion.

FXX ideas:
-Josh Folk's rain turbine, use the power of falling rain to power a turbine, spotty power output but genious, i smell nobel prize
-oh yeah me and josh want someone to use the power of lightning, I believe the way to harness is to use the super-heated gas(plasma) right next to the bolt rather than try to extract the electricity
-also there has to be a way to use adhesion, the thing trees use to get water from the roots to the top limbs, to produce energy
-also there may be a way to harness the rotation of the earth, either via the coriolis acceleration which is very very minute but does cause hurricanes, another way is to use the rotation at the poles of a planet(prolly better for a moon base), also the earth has other tendencies of rotation in the form of a precession about its spin axis(a wobble) could be used somehow? i dont know.
-laser combustion, use a laser to more completely combust a fuel, better than a spark plug? i dont know but more reason for me to buy a laser(goody you can have guns, i will have my lasers)
-i want to use a bunch of insects somehow, insects are amazing, i am sure there is a way to utilize them in some sort of contraption to extract energy, (I just came up with this and im gonna think about it some more to give more detail)
-somewhat completely unrelated i want to use a water propelled space shuttle launch, pretty much a large version of those 'toys' that use water pressure, mke a very large platform in a big lake or sea maybe ocean, make it so theres a big hole in which you can pump the water out, put some intake valves and voila a cheap reusable launch facility, i think it is feasible



Notes: there are a whole bunch more, new research every day is being unturned but is impossible to tell which is a pretender or a contender(wheres Salisbury when you need him). All the research is impossible to sort thru. But if you get onboard the right idea early there is a whole bunch of money to be made... please do comment some of my assertations are probably wrong since most of the stuff i wrote by memory. And add your favorite one or idea, i love ideas.
